I'm John G. Potter, a Chicago-based writer/editor. I've written and/or edited for a variety of publications and organizations, including, among others, The A.V. Club; Sojourners; Willow Creek Community Church, North Park University, The Christian Century; Beliefnet; The Gamelogical Society; Soundsupply; OX Creative; and the APA Review of Books' PsycCritiques journal. My clips include features, interviews, reviews, news writing, ad copy, and video & radio scripts.
I am passionate about storytelling, thoughtful cultural coverage & analysis, and clear communication. I work as an editor for Living Lutheran, the ELCA's national magazine, and am currently pursuing a certificate in the language of film from the University of Chicago. My wife, Jenny, and I live just outside the city with our sons Elliot and Milo and our dog, Harriette Potter.
